Winter: According to our model results,
the mean temperature in the Swedish reindeer grazing
areas is going to increase
locally by up to 4°C until 2050 compared with the period 1979-2000.
The maximum temperatures can
cause refreezing events and an ice layer
on the snow that keeps reindeer from reaching ground lichens.
