Autumn: According to our model results,
the mean autumn temperature in the Swedish reindeer grazing areas will increase
by 3°C within the next 20 years.
Especially in the south in November, the maximum temperatures during the days
will regularly get close to 0°C and raise the risk for thawing and refreezing events
and resulting ice crust on the snow. The snow season
will start later and the amount of rain- and snowfall will also change: October will become
wetter while November will become up to 25% dryer compared with the period 1979-2000.
